SOLUTION IMPLEMENTATION

Initial Intensive Treatments:

• Date: March 26, 2024
• Approach: Full facility treatment in one housing unit to immediately reduce the high mite infestation levels.

Subsequent Preparative Treatments:

• Dates: July 19 and 20, 2024
• Facilities: Two units underwent full treatments to further decrease mite levels and two units received preparatory treatments in anticipation of emptying the facilities.

Results

The strategic application of Pulcap significantly decreased the mite infestation across all facilities. The initial full facility treatment was critical in quickly reducing the mite population, allowing for effective preparation of the units for incoming flocks. The subsequent treatments ensured that the facilities were adequately prepared, maintaining low mite levels and thus improving the overall health and environment for the hens.
